Hello lovlies! So I don't know about some of you but I know that when it comes to my closet, I am obsessed with being organized. From color, to sleeve length, and pattern. I like my closet to look neat and tidy. I want to be able to open my closet and find what I'm looking for without a huge hassle. With that being said… I wanted to share some easy organization tips with you!
1. Separate by sleeve length
This is probably the easiest one to do, in my opinion. Start with your tank tops, then go to short sleeve and then to long sleeve. This makes it easy when you know what type of shirt you're wanting to wear that day. You know exactly what section to look in without pushing through every single shirt in your closet to find your favorite tank top!
2. Color code
I know what you're thinking… I've tried that before and I always mess it up or oh my gosh that's too much work! Trust me, you'll thank me when you need a red top and all you have to do is open your closet and go straight to the spot where all your red tops are hanging out. I like to do it by the rainbow because it's easy to remember! Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, and last and sadly not apart of the rainbow, PINK! Starting off with white, leading into your rainbow of clothes, grays, and lastly ending in black. I know it seems super over the top but it really does help when you're trying to get ready!
3. Separate the sweaters
It seems so petty but it's just an extra helpful hint. Sweaters can be bulky and awkward, so the best way to deal with them, put them in their own section of your closet. This makes it easy when you're going out to dinner and want to grab the cream cardigan to take just in case the restaurant is cold. Again, you're not filing through blouse after blouse. Just like separating by sleeve length, sweaters need their own home. It's also helpful as far as the seasons go. If your sweaters are by themselves then you aren't shuffling around sweaters in your closet in the middle of the summer when it's 85 degrees outside.
4. Necklines
I don't know if it's just me or what but I own a lot of collared shirts! I just love them so much. They're a very versatile clothing item. That's why I like to put them all together. Collared shirts are generally more of a dressier clothing item so having them all next to each other makes it easier when I'm looking to wear a collared shirt that day. Organize by necklines. Put the v-necks with the v-necks, the Peter Pan collars together, and the scoop necks side by side. So when you're feeling more pretty you can grab your favorite collared shirt or if you're feeling more girly you can grab that pretty Peter Pan collared shirt.
5. Patterns
At the end of each color section, put the tops that have a pattern on them. This is just an extra way to help your closet be more organized. If you're looking for a patterned top that day, it's right there with the rest of them. This just helps to separate your solids from your patterns.
Now, I know this can all seem a bit over the top and extreme but they are just some helpful tips to make your closet more organized! If you don't want to do all of them choose one and start there. These are just some ways I like to use to organized my closet so that it's easier to get dressed and find what I'm actually looking for. Good luck!
