Stay Happy Part 1

Now since I recommended, or perhaps challenged you to pursue your ultimate happiness. I think it might help if I started out by giving you some tips on getting there. I figured this would be more enjoyable if I gave you new ideas every so often. I will post a blog about what you can do to continue your journey towards happiness this summer! Without further or due, let's get started.

One of my favorite things to do is write. I am currently sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather and writing to all of you so... but anyways. I keep a journal. So that whatever pops into my mind, I can jot it down. It's also a great way to get out any negative thoughts. One thing I've noticed is that, sometimes I begin writing and it's almost as the pen has completely taken over. My mind just goes from one thought to the next and soon enough I have filled up 3 to 4 pages of things that were bothering me, things I'm excited about, and thoughts that just need to escape and be put somewhere.

Another thing that I've found to be extremely uplifting is reading. Now, I know what some of you are thinking... I hate reading! But really do you? Sometimes it's just a matter of finding the perfect book. I'm currently reading Nicholas Sparks, The Guardian, and I'm in love with it. I find that reading helps you escape into another world. Your mind becomes idle and you're no longer trapped in your own thoughts. You're indulging your imagination. There are many benefits to reading, and helping reduce stress is most definitely one of them. 

So, step out on a limb, grab an ice cold glass of lemonade or tea, and let your creative juices flow. You'd probably surprise yourself.
