Turtle Neck Say Wah..?!

Hello lovelies! I'm so excited to share this post with all of you because it involves turtle necks! Now, I know what you're probably thinking. Turtle necks...? Yes! And no, I'm not talking about the cotton ones your mom would put you in when you were in elementary school. I'm talking about sweaters! Turtle necks are coming back and they are making them more styled toward this day and age. So how do you wear a turtle neck? How can you make it look cute? I'm about to show you the answer to both of those questions! Before I decided to do this post, I had to make sure I got the perfect turtle neck as an example. I found this adorable one at the J.Crew factory store. I got around 50% off plus if you didn't know this, they do a 15% off student discount! Yes, they do! And it's extremely dangerous for those of us who love J. Crew just a little too much! You can find all the details on my recently purchased page! But on too styling this super cute turtle neck now...

You may have already seen this picture on my Intsagram if you follow me. This turtle neck is so warm that I didn't need a huge heavy coat to go over it. Instead, I paired it with my lighter cheetah printed coat that I bought from the Banana Republic outlet store. The colors complement each other very well and wearing your hair up makes the turtle neck the center of attention, which is what I was going for. I also just paired with my favorite booties at the moment from Nine West and just a simple pair of jeans. I kept my make up light and when for pretty plum lip to finish off this look.

If you haven't already noticed, I kind of have an obsession with J. Crew and just to let you know the factory store is where it's at! This look is more casual but I decided to bring in one of my favorite styling go to's. Mixing patterns! Since cheetah is basically considered a neutral in my wardrobe, I wear it with almost anything! Another one of favorite things this fall and winter, that I've definitely adventured into, are vests. This blue plaid one is again from the J. Crew factory store and I got a great discount! To added some fun to this look by pairing it with my cheetah flats that I bought from Target. Like, 3 years ago and keep in mind theses are my favorite flats. I couldn't tell you how many times I've worn them. So, don't rule Target out when it comes to shoes! I love how fun this look is with the patterns and my neck is also very warm. No scarf needed.

Now, I figured I had to show you one look where I'm just wearing my turtle neck by itself because if you're going somewhere where a vest or a jacket won't be needed, like inside, you want to look just as cute as you do with the jacket or vest. So, to add even more attention to the turtle neck, I put on this gorgeous necklace, again I got it at the J. Crew factory store. It's simple enough that it doesn't take away from the sweater but adds some sparkle and glamor. I wouldn't recommend a huge statement necklace if you want to pair a necklace with your turtle neck. So go for more simple statement necklaces, and yes there is such a thing as a simple statement necklace and you can find statement necklaces just about anywhere nowadays. If you get lucky, the J. Crew factory online usually always has their gorgeous necklaces on great sales. So keep an eye open for one of their legendary pieces there. Also, let me just repeat, this turtle neck is so warm. I'm in love with it. I just finished the look with some simply brown riding boots. It's cute and comfy and there was really no effort too it.

So as you can see turtle necks can be worn in a stylish way. They are multifunctional, aka a scarf and shirt. They are super warm on cold days and don't be afraid to play around with your sweater. There's many different ways to wear turtle necks. Just look for the perfect one. The one I'm wearing is more of a cowl neck turtle neck, which is what I steer more towards when it comes to turtle necks. They don't suction cup to your neck and leave more room for functioning. I hope you found this helpful if you're feeling adventurous and want to purchase a turtle neck this winter, go for it! I'm in love with them and there are many places other than J. Crew that you can find adorable turtle necks. If you want to see more styling tips please feel free to leave a comment. I'm always here to help! Keep your eyes open for those cute turtle necks because they're out there!

xoxo, tori
